Update 02/27/2023:
In the coming months, there will be a temporary four-week closure, as the Pleasanton Library moves into the final stage of the Roof Replacement Project. The new roof is now complete, and the project is entering the next phase which will include the removal and installation of new roofline windows. We will be closing the Library for four (4) weeks while the old windows are removed and the new windows are being installed. We are currently waiting on the windows to ship, and due to a shipping delay, we cannot yet confirm when the Library closure will take place. At the moment, we anticipate closing sometime in April. To ensure continuity of services, the Library will extend due dates for items being checked out, provide materials pick-up through Sidewalk Service, offer phone and email assistance, support all online platforms and member accounts, and continue to offer virtual and offsite library programs. Thank you for your continued support as we look forward to completing this important project! We will post the four-week closure dates as soon as they become available.
Update 01/10/2023:
There will be limited construction activities taking place until late winter 2023. The library will remain open to the public, and all regular library services will be available.
Original posting 08/04/2022:
The Pleasanton Public Library will undergo a roof replacement beginning Monday, August 8, 2022. This phased project will replace a 34-year-old roof and provide needed building improvements. The library will be open regular hours during the initial phase of construction, and the public will have access to library collections, services, and programs.
Safety fencing around the building will form a perimeter for the active construction site and serve as a protective barrier between the public and any potential falling debris. A tunnel, or similar cover, will be set up at the library front door to provide safe access for the public and staff.
